A FLOOD alert has been issued for the lower Teifi area for tonight (Thursday, December 6) and into tomorrow morning.

The alert has been issued by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) for the lower Teifi Valley catchment area downstream of Llanybydder, covering Llandysul, Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan.

The NRW alert says: “Heavy rainfall is forecast in the early hours of the morning (Friday, December 7). River levels are expected to peak around 8.30am. At this point there are uncertainties of the rainfall quantities.

“The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land during the next 24 hours.”
