AN alleged victim of a mugging incident in Cardigan has spoken about his shock and “frightening experience”.
The attempted robbery took place at around midnight last Tuesday outside Lloyds Bank, in High Street.
Tesco employee Paul Hancock, aged 38, said he’d withdrawn cash from a machine outside the bank when he says he was accosted by a man who grabbed him round the neck, causing an injury.
But when Mr Hancock fought back, the man ran off.
It is understood police officers in a parked patrol car outside the Factory Shop were quickly on the scene to arrest a man who was taken into custody.
Speaking to the Tivyside, Mr Hancock said: “I had a huge shock because you don’t expect that kind of thing to happen in a town like Cardigan.”
