A DRINK-driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months.
Vasile Ciprian Barascu, of Llanllwni, Pencader, was stopped by police on November 11 while driving a BMW at Lampeter. He had 52 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre, where he was fined £350 and banned for a year.
Barascu also admitted driving without a licence and driving without insurance, for which he was fined a further £150. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.
