A DRIVER has been jailed after being caught behind the wheel of a car only days after being banned from the road.

Daniel Ian Rogers, of Maescader, Pencader, was stopped by police while driving a VW Golf on the B4459 between Pencader and Llanfihangel-ar-Arth on June 16.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

Rogers was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison because of his flagrant disregard for court orders, having committed the offence within days of the imposition of the disqualification.

He was also banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
