ST Dogmaels Community Council has taken the decision not to replace the cross street Christmas lights.
The existing support system for the lights was condemned earlier this year following an inspection.
The subsequent search for a suitably qualified/experienced contractor to quote for the replacement of the lights system has not been successful. The council believes this is because of the location of the village and the relatively small scale of the proposed replacement infrastructure and lights.
The council has purchased new lights for the Christmas tree in Halket Square and the switch on for these will take place on November 25 at approximately 5pm following a procession from the Coach House to the square.
The council is also sponsoring the best decorated Christmas window and best decorated house competition to be judged week commencing December 17, with a Christmas hamper for the winner in each category.
