LLANDYSUL Family Centre has been awarded a grant of £95,203 from the National Lottery.

The grant, over three years, will fund salaries, training, marketing, monitoring professional fees, accommodation and utilities, resources and creche facilities

The cash will be used to will increase family and community well-being. Parents' strengths will be built on, empowering them to find solutions to situations and practice them in a safe place and then transfer them to their home life in the community.

Sessions will be provided to increase speech and language skills in children, and for parents who find it hard to maintain relationships due to their own difficult upbringing.

Emma Morgan speaking on behalf of Llandysul Family Centre welcomed the grant saying: “This is fantastic news and means that Llandysul Family Centre can continue to support families in the local area.”

Speaking on behalf of the Big Lottery Fund, Derek Preston-Hughes said: “We are pleased to support Llandysul Family Centre in its work with local families. Thanks to players of the National Lottery, the Big Lottery Fund is able to give a grant of £95,203.

“Engaging with this project will help reduce isolation and improve the family members’ health and wellbeing while giving them the skills they need to better manage their relationships. Parents will be able to build on their skills to become leaders in their community.”
