A WONDERFUL array of fruit, vegetables and flowers was on display at this year’s Drefach Felindre Gardening Club Horticultural and Craft show.

Despite the tricky weather conditions, this year growers had managed to produce a great variety of produce and the standard of the competition was high. There were also some wonderful exhibits of crafts, art, photography and cooking.

The president of the day was Cllr Ken Howell, who chose a wonderful basket of fruit and vegetables, by Glenys Rees, as his favourite exhibit.

Thanks must go to the show committee members for organising a wonderfully successful day and also to all of the judges who gave their time to cast their eye the entries. Total entries were very similar to last year and included a wonderful display of art from the children at Ysgol Penboyr.

The club is very grateful for the continued support it receives from the local community at this and other events such as the plant sales in May and July.
