A CARDIGAN man is to stand trial accused of assaulting a police officer.
Ashley David Williams, of Rhos y Dre, has been charged with assaulting the officer in town on August 26 and pleaded not guilty. He was remanded on unconditional bail by magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre for trial on November 29.
Williams, 36, admitted to possession of 23.7 grammes of cannabis in Cardigan on August 26, damaging a police vehicle at Aberystwyth and assaulting a police officer in Aberystwyth.
