THERE will be free parking in Cardigan on the three Saturday’s preceding Christmas.
The news follows a decision made by Ceredigion County Council’s cabinet that parking charges at all council-operated pay and display car parks will be waived on December 8, 15 and 22.
Cabinet member responsible for highways and environmental services, Cllr Dafydd Edwards, said: “Christmas is a very important time of year for many small businesses in our towns.
“This decision will support people to prepare for the festivities locally and help small businesses compete with the increasing influence of online shopping.”
The costs of car parking in Cardigan has long been a bone of contention with local traders.
