AN 18-year-old Llandysul driver has been banned for two years and must carry our 200 hours of unpaid community service after admitting a string of motoring offence.

David Eilir Wyn Williams, of Bro Gernos, Coed y Bryn, Llandysul, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on the A475 Penrhiwllan to Horeb Road on July 18 when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

He also admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa which was in a dangerous condition, with four tyres below the legal tread depth limit and with bulging walls, an insecure battery, passenger seat insecure and likely to become displaced, bumper bar damaged with jagged edges likely to cause injury and tyres of different nominal size fitted across an axle.

Williams also admitted to driving at speeds in excess of 60mph. A charge of failing to stop for a police officer was withdrawn.

Magistrates imposed a 24-month driving ban, along with the community service order requiring Williams to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work within the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
