TRYING to combat speeding motorists in Cardigan will remain a priority for Cardigan Town Council.

Councillors will continue to press highways authority Ceredigion County Council for improved signage and traffic calming measures in the town.

Cllr Catrin Miles, who recently held a meeting with local residents to discuss worries over speeding motorists on Castle Street, said: “Welsh Government wants to bring in more 20mph speed limits and hopefully this will filter through to local councils and the police will be able to enforce it.”

Mayor of Cardigan Cllr John Adams-Lewis again highlighted speeding cars on Aberystwyth Road, through town and out towards Gwbert.

“I know some AMs want to introduce 20mph limits throughout towns and it would be could if we could get it.”
