MOTORISTS are being advised to take care on the roads today (Friday, October 12) as Storm Callum brings heavy rain and 60mph winds to the Tivyside area.
Rainfall yesterday caused surface water flooding especially in locations where leaves were blocking drains.
It is anticipated that today’s rain coupled with high wind and falling leaves/trees will increase localised surface water flooding and disruption across Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
An amber severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office.
A flood alert has been issued by Natural Resources Wales for the Pembrokeshire coast from St Dogmaels to Amroth, while the agency is monitoring the levels of the River Teifi.
Several trees have come down, with a large branch obstructing the road at Cilwendeg between Boncath and Abercych. A Pembrokeshire County Council highways crew is in attendance.
