A 35-year-old Aberporth man has been fined and banned from the road after he admitted driving while under the influence of cannabis.
Mathew James Smith, of Hillfield Road, Parcllyn, was found to be driving a Seat Exeo in Bridge Street and High Street, Cardigan on July 19 while under the influence of the Class B drug.
Tests showed he had 8.8 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol – the active ingredient in cannabis – per litre of his blood. The limit is two microgrammes.
Aberystwyth magistrates disqualified the 35-year-old from driving for 14 months and fined him £250.
Smith was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a further £30 victim surcharge.
