EMLYN Dental Care officially opened its new premises at the weekend.
The dental practice has relocated from its former site at Adpar to its new building at Church Lane, Newcastle Emlyn, on the site of the former day centre.
Principal dentists and practice owners Neil and Arwel Jones welcomed guests to the opening and thanked all those who had played a part in establishing the new state-of-the-art facility, which employs four dentists, a hygienist, seven dental nurses and a practice manager.
Among those attending the opening was the Carmarthenshire County Council in leader Cllr Emlyn Dole, who stressed the importance of investment in the rural community and the job opportunities such businesses can provide.
The council provided a £128,000 grant towards the new building and Cllr Dole said: “It is important that Carmarthenshire County Council supports projects such as this. As a council we are committed to ensuring rural parts of our county receive our full backing.”
Cllr Hazel Evans added that with the closure of banks in the town, the opening of the new practice showed confidence in the future of the town and that such investment was vital to the whole of the Teifi Valley area.
