A BRIDE will walk down the aisle at Mwnt tomorrow (Saturday July 7) almost 12 months on from when her boyfriend proposed to her by way of a huge piece of sand circle artwork on the beach below.

Emma Thomas and Richard Grenfell will tie the knot at the Church of the Holy Cross at 1pm.

Richard, from Hertfordshire, proposed to Emma, of Pontseli, near Abercych with the help of famous sand circle artist Marc Treanor last August.

A crowd gathered around and waited the three hours Marc spent creating the piece.

Architect Richard then got down on one knee to propose to Emma on the cliff tops above as Marc wrote out the words 'EMMA, WILL YOU MARRY ME?'

Building surveyor Emma was stunned but of course she said ‘yes’ and the couple, family and friends will be back at the stunning location this weekend for the marriage ceremony.

The sand circle depicted a dragon’s eye with a diamond in the centre representing Emma's Welsh heritage and their new engagement.

The couple were keen to invite Marc back to create another work of art on the beach but there’s one thing you cannot control – and that’s the tide times.

“We were hoping to get Marc back but unfortunately the tide is in at the time when we get married. It’s a bit disappointing but we will be having ice cream!” added Emma.
