SISTERS-in-law Helen Davies from Newcastle Emlyn and Rhiannon Stephens Davies from Llanybydder ran the London Marathon for Cancer Research Wales Penny Farthing Appeal and raised a whopping £4,403.50p.

Money was raised from sponsors, a generous donation was received from Queen Elizabeth High School, wooden reindeers and driftwood Christmas trees were made and sold at various Christmas fairs and a Goulash evening was held serving delicious food.

A charity night was arranged in Cenarth Falls Holiday Park a week before the marathon, where Memphis Belle entertained the crowd and a raffle and auction took place.

Presidents for the evening were the generous family of Caws Cenarth and on the night a cheque for more than £4,000 was presented to Cancer Research Wales, which represents money raised over the year.

A big thank you to everyone involved. All money raised is spent in Wales on vital research into more than 200 types of cancer.
