GET your paddles at the ready – it’s time for the sixth annual Newcastle Emlyn charity raft race on the River Teifi.
The popular event has raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the years, with his year’s race round the castle being staged on Saturday, May 26 at 2pm.
Money raised will go to Cylch Meithryn Adpar, King George V Playing Fields and Emlyn First Responders Unit.
Organisers will be hoping for good weather – last year as the intrepid crews got out of the water there was a huge clap of thunder.
Anyone wishing to enter a team can get details from Dai Jones at the Plough Hotel in Newcastle Emlyn on 01239 710994, while further information is available from race organiser Sharon Thomas on 07989 694056.
Sharon said: “There will be a raffle and barbecue afterwards. We have had great support from all the local businesses over the years and cannot thank them enough for donating prizes.
“If anyone wants to donate anything, the more money we raise the better and it will all go back to local good causes in the town.
