A MAN who broke into a remote property near Llanybydder while armed with a shotgun, two knives and a hammer is facing a long prison sentence.
Huw Jones, aged 27, admitted aggravated burglary during a plea and trial preparation hearing before Judge Geraint Walters at Swansea crown court.
Jones, of no fixed address, broke into Pwllcynbyd, in the hamlet of Rhydcymerau, on March 26 this year and stole £5,000.
Judge Walters said that in light of Jones' previous convictions for violent disorder and assault causing grievous bodily harm he needed a report by a probation officer as to whether he should be sentenced as a dangerous offender as defined by law.
"Why you are committing such violent offences needs to be considered," he told Jones.
Jones was further remanded in custody and will be sentenced on May 18.
