MORE than 30 adults and children took part in the Teifiside Plastic Free Community Rubbish Collection Walk on Saturday.
The collectors from the Newcastle Emlyn area met at the Riverside Cafe and filled 10 bags of rubbish from a walk around the castle and the adjacent river path.
The walkers mainly found cans, plastic and glass bottles but also lots of cigarette butts and sweet wrappers.
The next walk will be on the first Saturday in March, at 10am from Winnies and will take the walkers through the park and around the new river path behind the primary school.
Aside from cleaning up the castle, the Teifiside Plastic Free Community team also had the chance to talk about ideas to reduce waste, particularly from packaging.
