Ceredigion’s local Plaid Cymru AM Elin Jones has visited Wales Motorsport Fabrication in Betws Ifan to discuss the business with owner Meirion Evans.
The firm has grown from Mr. Evans’s interest in motorsport, and now specialises in manufacturing high-quality parts for Mark 1 and Mark 2 Ford Escorts, and in building and servicing Escorts for rallying.
Elin Jones, local Plaid AM for Ceredigion, said: “I was delighted to have the chance to visit this thriving south Ceredigion business.
“The firm was established out of Meirion Evans’s own passion for rallying, but has grown impressively and is now one of just a handful of specialist businesses of its type in Europe.
“Wales Motorsport Fabrication is now known throughout the rallying world for high-quality parts and workmanship, and is now employing a number of local people and training youngsters through apprenticeships. I wish them every success in the future.”
