Massive Attack singer Yolanda Quartey headlines Newport Bay Spring Festival with the simply stunning band Phantom Limb on Friday, April 30, at 7.30pm in Newport’s lovely Memorial Hall.

Classic, late-night jazz, southern soul, country blues and gospel is what Phantom Limb have been described as.

Having just finished a tour with Will Young and collaborations with Roni Size to name but one, Phantom Limb are a band who are now in the limelight.

Yolanda Quartey has been described as one of the finest singers of her generation by The Times newspaper.

A mix of Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples best describes the unique sound of Yolanda’s burnished mahogany voice that has the rare power to carry emotion beyond her years.

Coupled by enigmatic song writing and raw elegance, this quite unusual opportunity to see them in Newport should simply not be missed!
