TWO of Pembrokeshire's top musical ensembles are tuning up for a concert in aid of Tŷ Hafan this week.

Letterston Memorial Hall will be the venue on Friday (February 28) for the performances by ladies choir Bella Voce and the multi award-winning Goodwick Brass Band, together with professional harpist Isabel Harries.

A Musical Evening for Tŷ Hafan is being staged by the PR manager of the children's hospice in Wales, Dani Harries, who hails from Broadmoor, near Kilgetty.

Dani is on a fund-raising drive to help Tŷ Hafan, which needs £4.5m every year to be able to keep its doors open.

Next month, she will one of 25 people embarking on a sponsored five-day trek in Cambodia, which has already smashed the £50,000 mark.

Friday's concert, which will be compered by the Rev. Geoffrey Eynon, also features a raffle with some super prizes.

These include a boat trip to Skomer for four people from Voyages of Discovery; a gift voucher for Vincent Davies; a Heatherton voucher and meal vouchers for local pubs and restaurants.

The evening gets underway at 7pm and tickets are £8 (£6 concessions), available on the door.
