THE magical, romantic musical The King & I will return to Theatr Mwldan’s big screen in Cardigan with not one, but two broadcast events on April 25 and 28.

Set in 1860's Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

The performance includes one of the finest scores ever written including Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You and Shall We Dance.

Featuring a company of more than 50 world-class performers, The King and I is a testament to the lavish heritage of gloriously romantic musical theatre.

“London's theatrical event of 2018,” says the Daily Express, while The Independent writes: “As Anna, Kelli O’Hara, with her gorgeous shimmering soprano and aura of witty, uncloying goodness, reinvigorates The King and I.”

“A provocative blend of bombast and subtlety,” adds The Telegraph.

Tickets for The King & I at Mwldan on Thursday, April 25 (7pm) and Sunday, April 28 (2pm) are £13.50 (£12.50) and are available now from Theatr Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621200, online at mwldan.co.uk or via the Mwldan app.
