IN the year that Wales will celebrate a Year of Discovery, The Big Retreat Wales will return to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in 2019 with an edition that promises to bring adventure, culture, outstanding natural beauty and importantly, complete discovery.

The four-day feel-good festival in Lawrenny - running from Friday, May 24, to Monday, May 27, has announced a slew of new additions and innovations to the schedule, all designed to stimulate the mind, body and soul and help visitors to discover something new.

With an impressive line-up of more than 200 events - including wellbeing classes, workshops, cookery demonstrations, spoken word, bushcraft, music and even rum and gin - everybody has a chance to discover a new hobby, rediscover and old one or simply discover the beauty of Lawrenny itself.

Set to rejuvenate and uplift, visitors to The Big Retreat Wales will also gain insight from some of the industries' most inspiring and innovative minds. Joining the line-up in 2019 is daytime TV presenter Matt Johnson and life coach Ben Bidwell, who together are known as The Naked Professors - hosts of a new podcast that aims to strip down the perceptions of mental health.

Co-founder of The Big Retreat Wales, Amber Rich, said: “The Big Retreat Wales has always celebrated the beauty of discovery, so we’re delighted to see that Wales will do the same in 2019. We’d like to invite our visitors to explore something new with us next summer and discover things they won't find anywhere else in the world. It’s exactly what makes our festival so unique.

“Whether it’s the spectacular beauty of the setting, the entertainment or workshops, there really is something for the entire family to create a truly memorable feel-good weekend.”

There’s plenty on offer for little ones too, with a fully-loaded kids’ programme led by the the Majical Youth Theatre Project who, with the help of their own festival team, are dedicated to entertaining the kids. There will be an abundance of inspirational, creative and learning activities, and new for 2019 is Anthony Norton's Pantheon Playhouse, an interactive pop-up theatre experience.

The Big Retreat Wales will take place on the Old Castle Site in Lawrenny. Day tickets cost from £15, with weekend passes starting from £50 and under-fives admitted free.

Admission includes access to all on-site fitness and wellbeing sessions, workshops, talks and live performances. An additional cost will be charged for watersports and spa treatments.
