Span Arts brings outdoor Shakespeare to Lampeter House once again this summer. This year, the award winning Festival Players Theatre Company will be performing The Winters Tale. Tremendous entertainment for a Summer evening!

Written by Shakespeare in his later years, The Winter's Tale is a play with an intriguing mix of drama and comedy. Sparked by an obsessive envy of perceived relationship between his Queen and his oldest friend, Leontes, King of Sicilia, sets in a motion a train of events which affect two kingdoms and two generations. There is jealousy and joy, revenge and romance, loss and discovery, remorse and revelry and an amazing revelation.

The Winters Tale will be performed in the natural amphitheatre nestled in the beautiful grounds of small estate Lampeter House, Lampeter Velfrey which has hosted events for almost 15 years. A truly magnificent setting!

The Festival Players Theatre Company is a professional theatre company delivering the best in open-air Shakespeare, committed to presenting the very best in touring theatre.

This year's open-air Shakespeare will take place at 7pm on 16th August. Prosecco and other refreshments will be available from our bar and can be enjoyed in the grounds from 6pm. Food will also available alongside tea, coffee and an array of delicious cakes.

As this is outdoor theatre the audience is encouraged to be prepared for any weathers. Chairs will be provided, though you might want to bring your own along too.
