Approaching the parlour is a collecting yard to hold approximately 300 cows. The parlour is a 24 48 herringbone parlour with a variable manual feed system, with a compressed air option, ACR’s and volume washer system. The floors have a suitable fall within them to ensure a good cow flow and to ensure that water flows away from the working area

Adjoining the parlour is a Dairy with two ice back tanks and dual stage plate coolers with a further Office and storage area with loft over together with a Shower Room and W.C. with wash hand basin.

Within the collecting and dispersal yard there is a flood wash system using recycled water via various rainwater harvesting techniques and a 20 tonne cake bin.

On the exit to the parlour there is an extensive cattle handling facility with features such as a circular holding pen and a foot bath and race that incorporates a double yoke crush and three way sorting race. This has been well designed and is particularly useful during TB testing and within this area there are also various AI and isolation pens.

THE LAND:

A plan of the farm is attached for identification purposes only.

The land extends in total to some 257 acres or thereabouts, of which some 235 acres or thereabouts is clean, good quality pasture, with the remainder being woodland, farmstead, cow tracks etc. The vast majority of the land has been reseeded with HSG3 over the last 10 years or so and there are extensive cow tracks at a depth of approximately 6'' stone over Terram providing access to all of the blocks of pasture. All of the land has access to a mineralised water system and the land is divided into useful sized paddocks with an electric fence system operated from the farmstead. The land is predominantly level or gently sloping and all of the 235 acres is capable of being grazed.

The farm is located within an area of highly productive grassland renowned for its capacity and long growing season with the system on the holding aiming for a mid February turnout.
