Five hundred and eighty two entries were made to the second St Dogmaels Village Show n the Memorial Hall and Alexandra Gardens.

The Show which attracted grant funding from Refreshing North Pembrokeshire this year, provided friendly competition for all the family and staged 91 classes.

The Produce and Cookery Sections were particularly popular and entries to the Photography Section were significantly greater than last year.

The Fun Dog Show proved to be very popular again, attracting family pets including a rescued Romanian street dog and also a therapy dog and a German Shepherd puppy in training to be an assistance dog.

The class for the Best Trick raised the most laughs with one dog showing how he puts his shoes on.The Judges reported that the quality of entries across the whole Show was excellent.

Organisers of the Show which represents a partnership between The Marmaladies WI, St Dogmaels Allotment Association and St Dogmaels Community Council said they were delighted with the number of entries and the number of visitors on the day.

“The Show has attracted significant interest this year.” said Helen Jenkins, the Show’s Secretary.

“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors which include local businesses, such as EcoPC and BV Rees and also our partner organisations but without the enthusiasm of the people who come along and submit their entries, there would be no Show. The biggest thanks must go to them.”
