HANES Emlyn is on a mission to put names to people on its extensive collection of photographs.

Many of these were given in the early days of the society and many have been given since where the names were not known.

"To add complexity to this project in the last week we have been given sets of class photographs of Henllan Modern School before they moved to Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn. Unfortunately these are not dated either," said historian Ken Jones.

"We also have early 80s class photographs of Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn. We recognise one or two faces on most photographs (these people would be approaching 70 now or even older). What we are hoping is that Tivyside readers would come and visit us and look at the photographs and hopefully date and name the people on them.

"We have had two people who we identified on photographs helping us and some progress has been made."

The society is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 2.30pm and will be open on Victorian Night on Wednesday, December 2.
