6th Form Trip to ‘Hot Mikado’ On Friday 6th November, 15 Sixth Formers went to see a professional performance of ‘Hot Mikado’ in the Arts Centre, Aberystwyth, as part of their preparations for the School’s production at Christmas. Amongst the pupils were those who will be playing the main characters in ‘Hot Mikado’, and members of the production cast.

Years 12 and 13 Parent/Guardian Evening November 3rd, 2009 A very successful evening saw large numbers of the parents/guardians of students in both years turned up to discuss the summer results and the progress made by their sons and daughters during the start of this academic year. Issues surrounding all aspects of their academic subjects were thoroughly discussed and advice provided to take all students forward, towards their Spring resit and Summer examinations. Advice was also available regarding the elements of individual UCAS applications and student aspirations.

Rotary and Soroptomist Pre-university Interviews 2009 In late October, a number of different panels, made up of members from the two local organisations, carried out a series of pre-university interviews for a large number of aspiring Year 13 students, at the Fishguard Bay Hotel. All of the students reported how challenging and useful the whole exercise had been and each was pleased to receive both verbal and written feedback. The panels were very impressed with the calibre of the students and their performance in the interviews. South Wales West Hockey Qualifying Tournament On Sunday 8th November, three girls from Ysgol Bro Gwaun represented their county in the South Wales West Qualifying Tournament. Charlotte Harries, Ffion Williams and Chloe Sinnott played extremely well in the tournament. They won all of their games against Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Llanelli and Afan Nedd Tawe. As a result they have qualified to the next round, which is the South Wales U16 Cup tournament on 29th November. Good luck!
