Members of the School Senior Rugby Team and a small number of staff were recently involved in a literacy project, sponsored by both Pembrokeshire County Council and Basic Skills Cymru. The outcome was a number of RUGBY READER posters, featuring the boys promoting literacy, with the aim of increasing the popularity of reading with younger boys.

Mr Chris Stephens (Basic Skills Co-ordinator) lead the official launch ceremony, in front of a good audience, at the School on March 5th, which was WORLD BOOK DAY. He thanked all of those who had been involved in the production of the excellent set of posters. He presented a set to Ms Wright (the Headteacher) and announced that the posters would be provided to all Primary and Secondary Schools within the County to promote reading. Mr Stephens also announced that copies had already been dispatched to the Welsh Society in Washington D.C. and to a school in the Rhondda.

There were some very entertaining readings from both the Ysgol Bro Gwaun rugby team and Wolfscastle Primary pupils.
