Cardigan Town Council is setting up a special sub committe to oversee the council’s contributions to the 2010 celebrations.
A sum of £2,000 has been set aside to help fund a street party for local children plus a time capsule to go under the Guildhall courtyard.
The council is also pressing Ceredigion to fund extra special floral displays for next summer.
Cllr Catrin Miles - who is also the 2010 co-ordinator - thanked the town council for allowing the 2010 committee to use its raffle licence. Raffle tickets for a raffle due to be drawn at the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Guildhall will be on sale from today.
