Wet weather cuts show short

The largest three day show jumping show in Wales was cut short over the weekend due to bad weather conditions.

Held in Penparc near Cardigan, hundreds of riders attended the show on the Friday and Saturday, but due to health and safety issues caused by quite a bit of mud, the show had to be cancelled on the Sunday, the third and final day.

We had good entries from the area and from away. Many junior riders had travelled from England and the atmosphere was great,' commented show secretary', Debbie Randerson.

She added: The show is planned for next year again and I'd like to thank everyone for their support, from the President to sponsors and riders to spectators. Diolch i bawb.' Mark Edwards from Cardiff was the leading rider over 1.15m, with Pembrokeshire jumper, Eurig Eynon the leading rider 1.10m and below with one of his novice horses. The junior leading rider was awarded to Steve Jenkins from Cardiff who amazed the crowds with his jumping abilities.
