Cardigan Golf Club held its Captain’s Day on Saturday, August 4, generously sponsored by club captain Peter Ward.

The day was well supported with 68 entries enjoying the generous hospitality put on by Peter throughout the day.

The weather turned into a glorious sunny day after a misty start and there was generally good scoring in the stiffening breeze. The winner with a nett 68 playing off a handicap of six was Sam Adamson.

In second place on countback was Ed Jones, also with a nett 68 playing off 17, and in third place was Rich Griffiths with a nett 69 playing off five.

The best gross score was Rich Emanuel with a 72. The nearest the pin on the 16th was won by J Huw Jones and the longest drive on the 18th was won by Jac Emanuel.

The winner of the stableford competition for handicaps of 25 and over was Richard Tomkinson with 35 points. Runner-up was Richie Jones.

A presentation evening and buffet was held in the club, generously provided by club president Peter Rees, club professional Steve Parsons, and captain Peter Ward, where the winners of their competitions were presented with their prizes.
