In a closely-fought Welsh Bowls Association Carruthers Shield round two game Ceredigion representatives Lampeter bowed out when going down by four shots against Cwmbran Park on Sunday.

It was nip and tuck virtually throughout with Cwmbran coming good over the last three ends when picking up eleven shots to clinch the tie.
The rink skipped by Lewis Williams sprang a 13-shot win while Henry Jones, Hari Button and Peter Fleming rinks lost by one, seven and nine shots respectively.
Lewis Williams was accompanied by Alan Jacob, Emlyn Dudley and Tim Button.
