Slumping to a second successive defeat, Llandysul lost by 29 runs against South Wales Cricket Association third-placed Maesteg Celtic at

Celtic Welfare Park.

Electing to bat the homesters struggled for runs, losing opener Nick Pool early on to a run out by Arfon Jones and although Ian Herbert got his

head down in making 49, which included six fours and a six, and was supported by Mathew Davies (19) Celtic managed only 134 for the loss of six wickets.

Ieuan Paske and Llewelyn Hughes snapped two wickets apiece.

Llandysul also found it tough going despite another fine performance by number three Ben Edkins who made 47 with five boundaries and the visitors were dismissed for 105 in the 29th over.

As the home side banked 19 points seamer Phil Poole was best of the bowlers in returning figures of four wickets for 18 runs in seven overs.

Llandysul 2nds fared no better than the seniors as they went down by three wickets against visitors Landore 2nds at Tir Dref.

Second in the table Llandysul were bowled out for 103 in 34.1 overs and fourth-placed Landore got the runs for the loss of seven wickets in 33.3

overs.
