Llechryd were hit by the unavailability of a number of regulars against visitors Saundersfoot in a Pembroke County League Division Two game at the RDM Oval.

Having been put in, Saundersfoot were at one stage 46-3 but Sam Franklin made a sparkling 75 supported by Phil Jones (52) and the pendulum swung towards the visitors who posted a challenging total of 183-4.

Seamer and skipper Graham Keen took three wickets and Nick North picked up one.

As the Llechryd run chase got underway wickets fell at regular intervals through a combination of indecisive running between the wickets and first-rate catching.

Left-hander Steve Smith got his head down in making 35 but the only other batsmen to reach double figures were Tomos Davies (3), Andrew Fletcher (12) and Jonny Lewis (10) as Llechryd were dismissed for 132 and went down by 51 runs.

Llechryd Seconds fared no better in suffering a 10-wickets defeat at Llanrhian in Division Three.

The visitors were bowled out for 57 as Mathew Bennett (3-14), Tom Clarke (4-8) and Rhodri Owen (2-12) took the wickets.

As the homesters knocked off the runs and banked 27 points Paul Lewis was unbeaten on 45 and his opening partner Ben Jones was 11 not out.

The star man at Glandy Cross was visiting Hundleton batsman Jonathan Williams who scored heavily in carrying his bat for 101 and was supported by David Lockyear (36 not out) as Hundleton posted 214-2.

In making 138-8 Crymych clung on for a losing draw.
