Just failing to claim the final wicket against visitors Haverfordwest Seconds at the RDM Oval forced Llechryd to settle for a draw in Division Two

of the Pembroke County League.

Batting first, the Teifisiders posted 194-6 in the allotted 50 overs with James Betterley leading the way with a fine knock of 62 and he was

given excellent support from left-hander Steve Smith (49) and Joe Mansfield who was unbeaten on 31.

Nigel Morgan and Chris Phillips picked up two wickets apiece.

In the Haverfordwest reply Simon Williams and Nigel Morgan were the leading run-getters as the visitors slumped to 145-9 but just held out for a

draw.

Llechryd banked 22 points and there were seven points for the visitors.

In a Division Three game Llechryd 2nds drew with their Narberth counterparts who batted first and posted 189-7, thanks mainly to Mike Johns

who made a fine 51 which included five boundaries.

Andrew Fletcher was in good form for the visitors with an unbeaten half century while Rob Mansfield (24) and Peter Gregory (21) made useful

contributions in a total of 156-6.
