A 20-run win over Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taf saw Llandysul move into third in Division One of the South Wales Association.

Winning the toss and electing to have first use of a good flat track the visitors went along merrily opener Gary Williams hitting five boundaries

in a fine innings of 90 as he and Ben Edkins at first wicket down went after the attack.

It was the second week in succession for Edkins to star with the bat as he scored freely with seven fours and two towering sixes but was stumped by Liam Derrick off Christopher Hughes one run short of a deserved century.

The only other visiting batsman to put up resistance was Rhydian Harries in the middle order but a total of 243-6 in the allotted 50 overs appeared imposing.

Nathan Spain snapped two wickets for the homesters.

Opener and skipper Luke Garthwaite led the Aberdare run chase with a swashbuckling 67, including nine fours and three sixes, but the top order

could not dominate the bowling and only Geoffrey Derrick at number nine with an unbeaten 28 made any real impression.

The Cynon Valley men were dismissed for 223 in the 47th over, leaving them 20 short of the target.

Llandysul Seconds were no match for Ammanford Thirds at Tir Dref where the Teifi Valley villagers were bowled out for 136 in 38.4 overs and their opponents knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket in 33.2 overs.
