Holders Newcastle Emlyn retained the Costcutter League Cup after springing a 5-1 win over Llandysul at Square Field in Aberaeron.

With the J Emrys Morgan Cup already among this season's silverware, it was also another five-goal victory for the rampant Reds.

The final, which was postponed on Easter Monday due to a waterlogged

pitch, was dominated by Emlyn for lengthy periods and although the Swallows gave it their best shot it was not quite enough.

Daniel Davies with a clean strike from the edge of the penalty area nudged the Reds in front and after Llandysul conceded a penalty Craig Gordon beat John Durbridge from the spot to double the advantage before half time.

During the second period Chris Harries was in exactly the right spot to

poke the ball past Chris Stevens and halve the deficit.

But there was no further success for the Llandysul Park men as Craig

Gordon netted his second of the game and strikes by Ashley Summers and Dion Phillips made it rather comfortable for their side.
