Cardigan Indoor Bowling Club hosted the 14th annual Open Pairs tournament on Saturday, March 10.

Thirty-three teams from various Welsh counties featured 20 Welsh international players took part, including Peter Norman, the Welsh singles champion 2018.

The eventual winners were Welsh internationals Andrew Evans and Andrew Hudson of Pembrokeshire. This was the fourth time the pair have won this tournament, with Andrew Evans winning it for the fifth time when he paired up with Ceri Jones in 2011 of Rhydlewis SMBC.

Both of the Andrews leave on Thursday this week for Sweden to play for Wales in the World Championships. The runners-up were Delyth Williams and Peter Fleming both of Capel Dewi SMBC.

The Cardiganshire Shortmat Association thanked the tournament's two coordinators Richard Prowse and Darren Davies for organising another very successful competition.
