Four young friends and their ponies from the Cenarth area decided to put together a Team Quest team back in April 2017 for British Dressage/Team Quest.

This involves teams of three or four riders who ride as individuals across the three dressage test levels (any combination) and the best three scores count towards an overall team total, highest percentage wins the day.

Out of five competitions, the Penstar Panthers sponsored by Penstar of Rhoshill near Cardigan, consisting of nine-year-old Georgia Smith riding Bonnie; Phoebe Smith on Hope; Ryan Rooney riding Alice in Wonderland and Adam Smith, aged 11, riding Tommy, have consistently finished in first place.

They have now completed the season on the top of the Team Quest junior leader board and are now training hard under the watchful eye of Donna Rooney, chief instructor and owner of Shiral Equestrian Centre, Abercych, for the regional final at Beacons to be held on Sunday, October 1.

Their aim is to qualify for the National Team Quest finals at Bury Farm, Buckinghamshire, to be held on October 27-29 .
