The Gwbert Road green in Cardigan and the Rookery in Lampeter will not be locations for the faint-hearted on Wednesday next week when the Ceredigion Bowling Association championship race goes all the way to the wire.

Reigning champions Cardigan had drawn 16 points ahead of the mid county bowlers but a 13-1 win at Aberaeron from their game in hand put Lampeter right back in contention – just three points adrift going into the deciding games when the Cardis host Queen’s Road and their rivals are at home against Tregaron.

In their penultimate games Cardigan banked 12 points from a 20-shot win at Tregaron and Lampeter did likewise with a 19-shot success against Aberystwyth at the Rookery.
