A superb all-round performance enabled Llandysul to spring an eight-wicket away win over third in the table Aberdare and move out of the relegation zone in the South Wales Association Division One.

Having elected to bat at The Ynys the homesters found difficulty penetrating the field and were restricted to a total of 186-8 in 50 overs.

Opener Mathew Weathersby made 45 before being clean bowled by Mike Turner and Liam Hughes at number five was top scorer with 60, his innings including only two boundaries.

Mike Turner, Ieuan Paske and Andrew Edwards picked up two wickets apiece.

Llandysul openers Gary Williams and Ieuan Paske shared in a stand of 34 before the former was caught by Steve Manning off Nathan Spain for 26.

Paske carried his bat for 61, which included six fours and Ben Edkins hit eight boundaries in his 66.

The visitors reached the target in 47i overs and banked 25 points.

In Division Six West leaders Llanwrda won by 13 runs against second in the table Llandysul Seconds at Tir-Dref.

Visiting opener Nigel Clarke was in great form as he wielded the willow in an innings of 119 (19 fours) while Cerith Rees was unbeaten on 56 as the visitors posted 236-8.

For Llandysul opener Gareth Chapple made 85 and Meurig Jones at number four contributed 69.
