Llechryd will be hoping to rise to the occasion in the Pembroke County Cricket League Division Two on Saturday when second in the table Narberth visit the RDM Oval.

As it stands Narberth are 39 points clear of their rivals and favourites to reclaim their Division One status while realistically the Teifisiders need to chalk up a sixth win to stay in contention – after this

weekend there are five batches of fixtures remaining.

The visitors will start as favourites having beaten Llechryd by seven wickets at the Lewis Lloyd Ground on the third Saturday of the season.

Llechryd and Narberth drew on Saturday with Llanrhian and Carew 2nds respectively, but the Teifisiders gained 14 points on their rivals.

Batting first on a good Llanrhian strip the visitors posted a very gettable 212-6 in the allotted 45 overs with opener John Curran in fine fettle as he stroked seven boundaries in making 55 and there were valuable contributions from Ollie Roberts (35), Michael Carter (32) and Leighton O'Connor (27 not out).

Medium pacer Jack Jones snapped five wickets but went for 72 runs.

In reply Llanrhian dug in without ever threatening to overhaul the visitors' total and at the close were tottering on 136-8 with Richard Reed unbeaten on 64.

Llechryd Seconds took the honours in the Fourth Division with a four-wicket win over runaway leaders and visitors Narberth Seconds.

The pacesetters posted 199-4 with Emyr Jenkins the mainstay with an unbeaten innings of 69 which included eight boundaries. Llew Jones was also undefeated on 52 which Andrew Williams contributed 36.

Nicholas North took three wickets for 25 runs.

As Llechryd mounted a run chase Josh Ward was in superb form in making 86 which included nine boundaries while youngsters Joe Mansfield (28 not out) and Luke Palmer-Davies (25) also made valuable contributions as the target was reached with six balls to spare and Llechryd continued their

promotion push.

The match sponsors were Leckhampton Computers Ltd.

In the same division it was straightforward for Crymych in notching a nine-wicket win over visitors Saundersfoot 2nds at Glandy Cross.

As Saundersfoot were skittled for 38 Sam Kurtz returned figures of 4-18 and the same player was to the fore in making 31.
