All-rounder Graham Keen was the hero with bat and ball as Llechryd sprang an 87-run win over Carew 2nds to complete a Pembroke County League Division Two double over their rivals, having won in the Teifi Valley on the opening day.

After banking 28 points the Teifisiders are fourth in the table but 53 points adrift of second-placed Narberth and it is clear that they will have to produce something special to be promoted.

With Carew threatening to take the initiative Keen (34) and Leighton O'Connor (46 not out) went after the home attack in sharing a vital 70-run partnership as the visitors posted 153-8 in 45 overs.

During the Carew reply Keen produced a devastating spell of seam bowling in snapping six wickets for 16 runs as the homesters were dismissed for 66.

Crymych kept alive their hopes of gaining promotion in Division Four behind champions-elect Narberth 2nds by ending the recent good run by Llechryd 2nds with a five-wicket win in the Teifisiders own backyard.

Andrew Fletcher was the mainstay of a Llechryd total of 172-8, the all-rounder wielding the willow to good effect in making 73 and he completed a good day by picking up two wickets.

Ioan Davies and Ben Wright snapped three wickets apiece.

The Preselimen went for the runs from the word go with Sam Kurtz (54) and in form Richard Thorne who was unbeaten on 38, guiding their side to victory.
