Ysgol y Ddwylan pupil Sally Howell from the Starlight Riding Centre will fly the flag for Wales having been selected to represent her country at dressage.

The 10-year-old will compete in the inter-regional competition at Keysoe in Bedfordshire at the end of June with her Section B gelding Millcroft Ossiris.

“She was absolutely bouncing around the house when she opened the letter to say she had been selected and we are pretty impressed,” said her mum Lynn.

“Sally has literally only joined British Dressage and had only done three ridden assessments where many others had been assessed all year, so being selected is a huge achievement.”

Sally is taught by her sister Nicola and her mum Lynn.

Lynn added: “We have a secret weapon in the stable block and she will be learning to ride on that soon. We also plan on going to the home international competition in Scotland later in the year with Sally and her sister Maggie, and we have high hopes for both riders.”
