Next up for the Teifisiders is the visit of second from bottom Merthyr Tydfil this Saturday and it goes without saying that they must get something from the clash.

Put in at Victoria Road the visitors were indebted to opener Gary Williams who carried his ;bat for a brilliant 107 which included 12 boundaries and he was well supported by opening partner Ieuan Parke (37) and Ben Edkins at number four who made 29 as Llandysul posted 213-4 in 50 overs.

As the Swansea side replied Adam Bond fell lbw to Iestyn Evans without bothering the scores but his opening partner Mathew Mason was in rip-roaring form with a quite majestic unbeaten 167 (17 fours and 12 sixes) as the target was reached in 33.5 overs for the loss of three wickets and the homesters picked up 23 points.

Llandysul Seconds fared no better against their Kidwelly counterparts in a Division Six West game at Tir Dref where the visitors won by 29 runs.

Kidwelly, who banked 19 points, were dismissed for 199 and in reply Llandysul made 170-9.

Star of the show was Kidwelly opener Liam Lilly who hit 17 boundaries in making 126 before being caught and bowled by Aled Jones.
