After an encouraging start to their Pembroke County League Division Two campaign Llechryd were brought down to earth when locking horns with extremely useful leaders Narberth who emerged seven-wicket winners.

Batting first the Teifi Valley villagers lost wickets at regular intervals and despite contributions from Tomos Davies (37) and Leighton O'Connor (16) the visitors were dismissed for 93.

Seam bowlers Loui Davies (3-11) and Lewis Hough (3-24) did the damage for the homesters.

In the Narberth reply opener Richie Adams was in fine fettle with an unbeaten 47, and Jordan Howell made 32 as the early pacesetters sauntered to their third success.

Crymych continued to enjoy life in Division Four with three wins from as many starts, the latest by three wickets over Hundleton at Glandy Cross.

The visitors posted 158-8 in 40 overs with Jonathan Williams top scorer on 51 and there were useful contributions from Mark Williams (24) and Paul Edwards (19) with Ioan Davies snapping three wickets from the Preselimen.

As the north Pembrokeshire villagers replied Richard Thorne continued his run of form with a well-compiled 66, which included eight boundaries and he was given good support from Rhodri Thomas (38) as the target was reached for the loss of seven wickets.

In the same division Llechryd 2nds completed a disappointing weekend for the club when going down by 67 runs against leaders Burton 2nds at the RDM Oval.

Having first use of a good track the visitors made 161 off 40 overs with Gavin Campbell top scorer on 35 while Andrew Fletcher claimed three wickets.

In the Llechryd innings Steve Harding contributed 32 and Andrew Fletcher 21 but with medium pacer Daniel Ridge picking up four wickets for just nine runs the homesters were dismissed for 94.

The match at the renamed RDM Oval ground was sponsored by coach proprietors Richards Bros.
