Pool finalists
The quarter-and semi-finals in the annual Cardigan & District Pool League Pairs competition provided some superb potting, including two 8-ball clearances.
At the quarter final stage Gary Murtagh and Chris Truslove of Lamb A overcame the challenge of vastly experienced duo Mark Belotti and Kevin Council Phillips of Clwb Rygbi 2-0 with Truslove achieving an 8-baller to wrap up the game.
In the semi-final the Lamb pair took on Alan Lewis and Steve Hudson of Rugby Club who led 1-0 but then Murtagh took out seven balls for his partner to pot the black and square the match before Murtagh produced more magic in
an eight ball clearance to go through.
The pair will meet Dominic Williams and Gary Lawrence of champions Red Lion A in the final on Tuesday, May 23 after the Red hotshots won through
two rounds.
In the quarter-final they overcame the challenge of Richard Morgan and Dan Dutnell of Red Lion B 2-0 and at the semi-final stage earned a 2-1 win over Red A team-mates Rob Furney and Dyf Allen to reach the final for the first time.
