Team work, grit and determination ensured a win for the youth team of the Dyfed Dirt Bike Riders who were triumphant in the President Team Trial Trophy Event held in Ammanford.
The competition has been held since the 1950s but 2017 was the first year for a youth competition to be included.
Four youth members of the Dyfed Dirt Bike Riders – Rhys Evans, Mathew Harries, Annie Evans and Harry Drewett – had to complete three gruelling laps of 13 sections (which would have included 46 tests) over the course of the day.
“They all helped each other and to a degree, they could have all pulled out for one reason or another, but they all pulled together as a proper team. They were a pleasure to watch and all thoroughly enjoyed it and brought the trophy back to west Wales,” said Harry’s mum, Leanne Pittam.
